Shearman & Sterling represented Credit Suisse Securities (Europe) Limited as the sole bookrunner in connection with the placement of 108.8 million shares of common stock of RCS MediaGroup S.p.A., valued at approximately €493 million. The shares were offered solely to institutional investors and  are listed in the blue chip segment of the Milan Stock Exchange.  Previously, the shares were pledged in favor of Banca Popolare Italiana and were disposed by Banca Popolare Italiana in connection with its enforcement of such pledge.

RCS MediaGroup is the Publisher of Il Corriere della Sera, the most widely read newspaper in Italy, and of La Gazetta dello Sport, the best selling sports newspaper in Italy.
