Shanghai, November 4, 2008—China Minsheng Bank’s investment in UCBH Holdings has been named “China Cross-Border Deal of the Year” at the Asia M&A Atlas Awards. Shearman & Sterling advised China Minsheng Bank on the US$195 million investment.
The China Minsheng Bank Investment is a landmark deal, marking the first successful strategic investment in a U.S bank holding company by a Mainland Chinese bank. The M&A Atlas awards, presented annually by Global M&A Network, acknowledges notable and distinct accomplishments in mergers, acquisitions, alternative investing and related industries in the Asia-Pacific region.
