Paris, December 28, 2006 – Shearman & Sterling represented the underwriters—J.P. Morgan Securities Ltd., Lazard-IXIS, Merrill Lynch, Dexia and Société Générale—in connection with  EDF Energies Nouvelles's initial public offering on the Eurolist by Euronext Paris, through a capital increase, combining a retail offering in France and an institutional private placement in France and outside of France, including a 144A placement in the United States.The closing of the transaction occurred in December 2006.

EDF Energies Nouvelles, a 50%-owned subsidiary of the EDF group, specializes in the production of energy from four segments of renewable sources (wind, hydro, biomass and solar). EDF Energies Nouvelles, is present in nine European countries (France, Greece, Portugal, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Germany, Bulgaria and Belgium), as well as in the United States.

Attorneys included partners Hervé Letréguilly (PA-CM), Bertrand Sénéchal (PA-CM) and Sami Toutounji (PA-CM) and associates Guillaume Dolidon (PA-CM), Kumi Ikeda (PA-CM) and Armelle Sandrin (PA-ARB).
