Rome, October 23, 2008—Partner Fabio Fauceglia (Rome-Capital Markets/M&A) addressed a class of the Bocconi University Business School in Milan, Italy, on the topic of legal strategies to create value in both public and private M&A deals.
Fauceglia spoke in the context of the course on Corporate Finance for Corporate Reorganization and Growth, currently being held at the Bocconi University Business School and attended by senior managers of financial institutions, private equity funds and investment banks.
Fauceglia stressed the importance of understanding the best legal strategies to create value in the different phases of a firm’s lifecycle. The hostile takeover of the Berenice Fund by Goldman Sachs’ real estate funds, on which the Rome office of Shearman & Sterling advised last year, was used to illustrate the major points of the speech.
The Bocconi University Business School is the most prestigious business school in Italy, offering a variety of MBA and degree programs both in Italian and English.
