Shearman & Sterling has won IFLR Europe’s Debt and Equity-Linked Deal of the Year Award for its work on the Continental high yield bond offering.

Capital Markets partner Marc Plepelits and Finance partner Winfried M. Carli and a team of lawyers in the firm's Frankfurt, Munich and New York offices worked on the €750 million offering—the first guaranteed and secured high yield bond issue under the new German Bond Act (Schuldverschreibungsgesetz) that came into effect in 2009.
