London, 16 Mar 2005 — Julian Tucker will join Shearman & Sterling LLP to head the firm’s growing structured finance practice in London. Julian is one of the leading structured finance lawyers in London and is ranked in the top 12 lawyers in this area by Chambers UK 2005. He will join from Allen & Overy LLP.
Shearman & Sterling has strategically built top-tier English law capabilities in all of the areas which support a leading structured finance practice including tax, derivatives, capital markets, bank regulation and property. With this solid platform, the firm’s structured finance practice has been growing significantly in London. Julian will be responsible for leading this practice and continuing its expansion.
Julian has worked extensively with a wide range of investment banks over many years including Barclays Capital, Lehman Brothers, Citigroup, Deutsche Bank, Morgan Stanley, HSBC and Hypo International. He also works for a number of issuers in the ABS area. He has advised on, amongst others, all of the Canary Wharf transactions (the world’s largest single borrower property securitisation); CSFB in its inaugural conduit CMBS transaction; and a number of “whole business” transactions in the UK and Europe, including the award-winning Tornator Finance transaction in Finland. He also has a strong presence in the CP conduit market. Julian is particularly renowned for his work on property related financings.

Julian Tucker qualified in at Lovells in 1989 and joined Allen & Overy in 1994, where he became a partner in 1998.
