Litigation Partner Adam Hakki Named Securities Law360 Rising Star
28 Mar 2011
Adam S. Hakki

New York-based Litigation partner Adam S. Hakki was named a Rising Star by Portfolio Media, Inc.'s Securities Law360. The publication names Hakki as one of five securities attorneys under the age of 40 in the US to watch.

Stephen Fishbein, head of Shearman & Sterling's litigation practice, notes in the article that "Hakki's command of the technical issues in securities cases means that he's able to balance it all." In addition, Fishbein states that Hakki's age works to his advantage as clients at investment banks and hedge funds are also in their 30s, so he can connect well with them.

Hakki, who became a Shearman & Sterling partner at age 32, has amassed an impressive roster of big clients, including Galleon Management LP, Merrill Lynch & Co. and Countrywide Financial Corp., to name only a few. He has handled some of the highest stakes matters for Shearman & Sterling clients, including representing Merrill Lynch in Enron litigation, in litigation arising from Merrill's $50 billion acquisition by Bank of America Corp. in September 2008, and currently Galleon Management LP in SEC v. Galleon.
