New York M&A partner John Madden published an article, "Restoration Project: Respect for the Board," in the Third Quarter 2009 issue of Directors & Boards magazine. The article discusses the widespread criticism of boards of directors arising from the economic crisis and the several initiatives under way to shift corporate decision-making authority to shareholders, and sets forth recommendations of actions to be taken by boards in response to those initiatives and to restore confidence.
