Shearman & Sterling has announced that Arnaud Fromion will join the firm’s Bank Finance team as a partner in Paris. This addition will allow the firm to more fully capitalize on its growing opportunities in the leveraged finance markets.
Mr. Fromion, 40 years old, joins Shearman & Sterling from Linklaters in Paris, where he has been a finance partner for the past six years. He has extensive experience working with banks, “mezzanine” funds, and borrowers on several types of structured financing and syndicated loans, with particular emphasis on leveraged and acquisition finance (of private or listed companies), as well as telecom financing. Mr. Formion has developed a leading practice in acquisition finance, a practice in which he has earned a strong reputation in Paris and has been highly ranked in Chambers Global, Legal 500 and other professional directories.
With the resurgence of the leveraged finance market throughout Europe, particularly in Paris, Mr. Fromion’s extensive experience in that area will further bolster Shearman & Sterling's highly regarded Bank Finance practice in Paris by completing the services the firm already offers to clients in that field.
Emmanuel Gaillard, managing partner of the Paris office and head of the firm's global International Arbitration practice, said: “I am very pleased to welcome Arnaud Fromion on board. He has the reputation of being a smart, hard-working lawyer with great technical expertise, and I believe his addition will help us to further develop our Bank Finance platform, alongside Pierre-Nicolas Ferrand in Paris, and our global High Yield and Capital Market practices.”
Mr. Ferrand, partner and head of the Bank Finance Group in Paris, commented: “I am delighted to have Arnaud join the team. He will be a valuable asset to the Bank Finance practice, helping to grow our reputation and presence in the field of leveraged finance. His high degree of professionalism and dedication to his clients make him a great fit for Shearman & Sterling.”
