Rainer Thum Joins Frankfurt Office, Strengthening Firm's Labor Law Capabilities
17 Sep 2010

Rainer Thum, an experienced labor law attorney, will join Shearman & Sterling as a counsel in the Frankfurt office.

Thum joins the firm from Noerr, where he was an associated partner. He started his career with Noerr in 2003 and worked in their Munich and Frankfurt offices.

Thum has comprehensive experience in the field of labor law, and he has advised German and international companies in all aspects of individual and collective labor law, especially in the context of restructurings, mergers, and acquisitions. He has focused in particular on pensions, employee data protection and new media.

"We are happy that Rainer Thum is joining our Frankfurt office," says Harald Selzner, co-managing partner-Germany. "His extensive experience in labor law will serve us well and strengthen our German capabilities."

This is a further boost for the Frankfurt office as well as the entire German practice, following the recent addition of European Corporate senior associate Andreas Löhdefink, who joined Shearman & Sterling from Hengeler Mueller in August.
