New York partner Linda Rappaport, head of Shearman & Sterling's global Executive Compensation & Employee Benefits Practice, was featured in an August 9 story in The Washington Post titled, "Pay Czar Quietly Meets With Rescued Companies."

The story focused on recent meetings by the federal government's new compensation czar, Kenneth R. Feinberg, with executives at American International Group, Citigroup, Bank of America, General Motors, Chrysler, Chrysler Financial and GMAC to discuss their executive compensation practices. Said Rappaport, "You've got to allow these companies to make the money for the shareholders. And to make the money for the shareholders, they have to have the talent. And to have the talent, they have to be able to pay them competitively."
