Shearman & Sterling won “Most Innovative US Firm in Europe” for the second year running at the International Financial Law Review’s award ceremony in London on March 18 .
The firm was acknowledged for its innovative work on a number of significant transactions and matters. "Another great year for Shearman & Sterling saw the firm win nominations in five of IFLR's six deal categories, proving its proficiency across the board," wrote IFLR.
Shearman & Sterling was shortlisted in a total of 10 categories:
- International Law Firm of the Year
- Equity deal of the year: HSBC rights issue
- M&A deal of the year: Qatar/VW
- Private equity deal of the year: Brawn/Honda
- Private equity deal of the year: MidEuropa/Invitel
- Restructuring deal of the year: Schoeller Arca Systems
- Debt and equity-linked deal of the year: Club Med ORANE issue
- M&A team of the year
- Private equity team of the year
