Shearman & Sterling Advises Abu Dhabi Investors Participating in Barclays’ £7 Billion Capital Raising

London, November 28, 2008—Shearman & Sterling has advised Abu Dhabi investors on their subscription of £3.25 billion mandatorily convertible notes, reserve capital instruments and warrants in Barclays plc. The investment is part of the approximately £7 billion Barclays capital raising, which closed on November 27.
