Shearman & Sterling represented the Province of Ontario in connection with its public offering of $3,000,000,000 1.875% Bonds due November 19, 2012 and $1,000,000,000 Floating Rate Bonds due November 19, 2012. Application will be made to the United Kingdom Financial Services Authority for the Bonds to be admitted to the Official List of the UK Listing Authority and to the London Stock Exchange plc ("LSE") for the Bonds to be admitted to trading on the LSE. Ontario is the largest province by population in Canada and is home to Ottawa, the country's capital, as well as its most populous city, Toronto.
