Shearman & Sterling Advises Stanhope in Reorganisation

London, 15th May 2006  – Shearman & Sterling LLP acted for Stanhope Group Holdings Limited and Chief Executive David Camp in the acquisition of Stanhope Plc and securing investment from property entrepreneurs and business angels Ian Laing and Nick Cross.  The transaction included buying out virtually all the stake owned by Sir Stuart Lipton in Stanhope and resulted in David Camp retaining more than 50% of the company. 

The Shearman & Sterling team included associates Alan Gutteridge, Lucy Keeble and Sebastian Shorr (Property), James Comyn and Zoe Blakemore (Corporate), Sam Whitaker (Employment), partner Iain Scoon and associates Celine Maassen (Tax), and Jonathan Lagan (European Finance).

Manches & Co advised Ian Laing and Nick Cross.  Herbert Smith advised Sir Stuart Lipton and Linklaters advised Peter Rogers who also sold a substantial portion of his shareholding in Stanhope.
