Shearman & Sterling Advises Underwriters in Connection with IPO of MEG Energy

Shearman & Sterling represented Credit Suisse Securities (Canada), Inc., BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc., Barclays Capital Canada Inc. and Morgan Stanley Canada Limited, as joint bookrunning managers, TD Securities Inc., Goldman Sachs Canada Inc., Scotia Capital Inc., FirstEnergy Capital Corp. and Peters & Co. Limited, as co-managers, and Tudor Pickering, Holt & Co. Securities, Inc., as a special selling firm, in connection with MEG Energy Corp.’s C$700 million initial public offering of common shares in Canada and 144A private placement in the United States. The shares will be listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol “MEG”.

MEG Energy Corp. is an oil sands company focused on sustainable in situ oil sands development and production in the southern Athabasca region of Alberta, Canada. MEG is actively developing enhanced oil recovery projects that utilize SAGD extraction methods.
