Shearman & Sterling Advises on $1.035 Billion Project Financing for Pueblo Viejo Gold/Copper Project in the Dominican Republic

Shearman & Sterling represented Pueblo Viejo Dominicana Corporation, a joint venture between Barrick Gold and Goldcorp Inc., in the $1.035 billion project financing for the development of its gold/copper resource in the Dominican Republic comprised of the reopening of the existing open pit gold mine site as well as the development of related infrastructure, including electric power generation and transmission facilities. The total investment for the Pueblo Viejo project exceeds $3 billion.
