Shearman & Sterling represented the underwriters (led by RBS Securities Inc.) in connection with The Royal Bank of Scotland plc’s global offering of $3.75 billion of bonds comprised of: $1.5 billion 3.400% Senior Notes due 2013, $1.5 billion 5.625% Senior Notes due 2020 and $750 million Floating Rate Notes due 2013.
The bonds were guaranteed by The Royal Bank of Scotland Group plc, the parent company of the RBS Group. The RBS Group is one of the world’s largest banking and financial services organizations. It is headquartered in Edinburgh and provides a wide range of products and services to personal, commercial and large corporate and institutional customers in over 50 countries.
