Shearman & Sterling Advises on Fairfax’s $500 Million Private Offering of Senior Notes

Shearman & Sterling represented Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited in connection with its private offering of $500 million aggregate principal amount of Senior Notes due 2016, which closed on May 9, 2011. Fairfax intends to use the proceeds of this offering to partially refinance an aggregate $500 million principal amount of certain notes issued by Fairfax and its subsidiaries.

Fairfax Financial Holdings Limited is a financial services holding company based in Toronto which, through its subsidiaries such as Northbridge, Crum & Forster, Zenith National, OdysseyRe and Fairfax Asia, is engaged in property and casualty insurance and reinsurance and investment management.
