Shearman & Sterling is representing Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. in the acquisition of Symantec Corporation’s 49% stake in Huawei Symantec Technologies Co., Ltd. (JVCO) for US$530 million.

JVCO was established in 2008, with Symantec owning 49% and Huawei owning 51%. Upon closing, Huawei will have full ownership of JVCO. The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2012.
