Shearman & Sterling advised Barclays Bank PLC, as administrative agent, and Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank PLC, Banc of America Securities LLC and Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, as joint lead arrangers and bookrunners, in connection with a $2 billion senior secured financing for the acquisition of NBTY, Inc., by The Carlyle Group. The financing was part of a financing package that also included the issuance by NBTY, Inc. of $650 million in senior unsecured notes.
