Shearman & Sterling is representing Itaú BBA as financial advisor to Vivendi S.A., the French media and telecom company, in Vivendi's acquisition of the Brazilian telecom operator GVT Holding S.A.

After a series of private acquisitions, Vivendi has announced that it intends to launch a public tender offer to purchase the remaining GVT shares on BM&FBovespa, the São Paulo Stock Exchange, starting April 27.
