30 May 2011
Guillaume Isautier

Shearman & Sterling has promoted Guillaume Isautier to the partnership in its Paris office.

Mr. Isautier, 37, is a member of the firm’s Corporate group where he has experience advising French and international corporate clients, both listed and unlisted, regarding mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, restructurings and leveraged buyouts.

Mr. Isautier was notably involved in the following transactions: advising Société Générale with regard to its disposal of ECS to Econocom; advising Florac on its joint acquisition, with L Capital, of the ladies’ ready-to-wear clothing manufacturers Sandro, Maje and Claudie Pierlot (SMCP group); advising Eurogroup Consulting France on the creation of Eurogroup Consulting, an independent European consulting group; and advising Axel Springer on its tender offer on aufeminin.com.

Shearman & Sterling is among the global leaders in mergers and acquisitions. The firm is a key player in France for securities and corporate law advice and advises clients on strictly domestic transactions, as well as cross-border and international operations.

Mr. Isautier appointment comes just weeks after the arrival of partner Christophe Asselineau, who joined the firm to develop and lead a Project Development & Finance practice in the Paris office.

“Guillaume Isautier’s election and the launching of a new Project Development & Finance practice are strong indicators of the buoyant activity of the Paris office," says Emmanuel Gaillard, Managing Partner of the firm's Paris office. "This is our way of responding to the needs of our French and international clients.”

Mr. Isautier holds a D.E.S.S. in Droit Commercial International from Université Paris X, as well as an LLM in Taxation from Golden Gate University. He is admitted to the Paris bar and has been with Shearman & Sterling since 1999.
