New York, 22 Feb 2005 — Shearman & Sterling LLP, a leader in executing a global law firm strategy, has elected ten lawyers to partnership across its worldwide platform. They practice in eight offices -- Abu Dhabi, Brussels, Frankfurt, Hong Kong, London, New York, Paris, and Toronto. The elections and promotions are effective January 1, 2005.

The new partners practice in the antitrust, capital markets, M&A, litigation, intellectual property and project development and finance areas.

The following lawyers were elected partner:

Abu Dhabi

Timothy Pick, who practices in the firm's Project Development and Finance group, received a B.A. in Law from the University of Cambridge, Pembroke College in 1994 and a Diploma in Legal Practice from the College of Law, York, in 1995.

Brussels

Silvio Cappellari, who practices in the firm's Antitrust group, is a 1992 graduate of the University of Göttingen and received an LL.M. from Columbia University School of Law in 1998.

Frankfurt Esther Jansen, who practices in the firm’s Mergers and Acquisitions group, received a Dr.jur. from the University of Heidelberg in 1999.
Hong Kong Alan D. Seem, who practices in the firm’s Capital Markets — Asia & Europe group, received a J.D. from Columbia University School of Law in 1996.
London J. Warden McKimm, who practices in the firm’s Capital Markets — Asia & Europe group, received a B.A. in Law and History from Cambridge University, Clare College in 1992 and an M.A. from Cambridge University in 1996.
New York Maria Gattuso, who practices in the firm’s Asset Management group, received a J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School in 1994.
  Adam S. Hakki, who practices in the firm’s Litigation group, received a J.D. from St. John’s University School of Law in 1997.
  Warren L. Nachlis, who practices in the firm’s Intellectual Property group, received a Ph.D. in Polymer Science and Engineering from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst in 1993 and a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1997.
Paris Bertrand Sénéchal, who practices in the firm’s Capital Markets group, received a Maîtrise from the University of Paris II in 1992, a Magistère - D.E.S.S. - D.J.C.E. from the University of Paris II in 1993 and an LL.M. from New York University School of Law in 1994.
Toronto Jason Lehner, who practices in the firm’s Capital Markets — The Americas group, received a J.D. from New York University School of Law in 1995.
