Shearman & Sterling has been recognized as one of the top 20 law firms in the world by legal news site Law360 in its inaugural Global 20 ranking of “firms that stand out as preeminent global outfits” that “blazed trails internationally.”

According to Law360, the list recognizes firms that “have been aggressive in expanding beyond the borders of their home countries and answering their clients' call for multijurisdictional know-how.” Shearman & Sterling placed 10th on the list, which was compiled by ranking international law firms in five categories: the number of countries where the firm has offices, the number of offices outside the firm's home country, the percentage of attorneys working outside the firm’s home country, the breadth of the firm’s international work, and the size and complexity of the firm’s cross-border work.
