Shearman & Sterling's leading market position in advising on capital markets transactions was reflected in 2009 France Rights Offerings Legal Adviser league tables published by the French publication Le Magazine des Affaires, where the firm ranked 1st by volume with nine deals, representing a total amount of €11.8 billion.
Significant transactions included: Société Générale’s €4.8 billion rights offering, Danone's €3 billion rights offering, Lafarge's €1.5 billion rights offering, Pernod Ricard's €1 billion rights offering, Saint Gobain's €1.5 billion rights offering, Club Méditerranée‘s €102 million rights offering (combined with an ORANE issue), and NicOx’s €100 million rights offering.
As a recognition for this achievement, the Corporate team, composed of partners Hervé Letréguilly, Bertrand Sénéchal, Robert Treuhold, Sami Toutounji, and Cyrille Niedzielski, received the award at a ceremony held in the Paris office.
