On March 30, 2011, Shearman & Sterling received a trophy from Le Magazine des Affaires for first place in the High Yield in France (in value and volume) category.
This prize was awarded in recognition of Shearman & Sterling's leadership in capital markets, an area in which the firm is particularly active and increasingly sought after by clients, as well as the quality of the work provided jointly by our London and Paris offices on French High Yield offerings. The firm was involved in major French transactions over the past 12 months, including Rhodia, Picard and Labco, and was awarded "Finance Team of the Year" at the Legal Business Awards 2011.
Over the past five years, Shearman & Sterling's capital markets lawyers in Europe have advised on more than 300 cross-border securities offerings (both equity and debt) in more than 25 countries across Europe, Africa and the Middle East. In the European and U.S. high-yield capital markets, Shearman & Sterling has been one of the undisputed leaders among international law firms since the early days of the high-yield market. In recent years, its lawyers have advised issuers and underwriters in some of the most complex and innovative transactions in the market.
