New York, September 17, 2007—Shearman & Sterling represented GE Energy Financial Services, a unit of the General Electric Company, in the formation of GE AES Greenhouse Gas Services, a joint venture with the AES Corporation.
The joint venture intends to produce scientifically verified greenhouse gas credits in the United States and market them to companies that want to reduce the environmental impact of their operations or provide environmentally friendly products and services.
