Shearman & Sterling is advising European buyout firm Mid Europa Partners on its tender offer to acquire the remaining shares (including shares represented by ADSs) in Invitel Holdings A/S that Mid Europa does not already own.

Invitel is a Hungarian telecommunications services provider listed on NYSE Amex.

Mid Europa currently owns 74.4% of all the outstanding Invitel shares (including shares represented by ADSs). It is making the tender offer to acquire all the remaining Invitel shares and Invitel ADSs.

The firm advised Mid Europa earlier this year in connection with its acquisition of the 74.4% stake in Invitel.

Shearman & Sterling is also advising Mid Europa on the €340 million bond offering by Invitel’s subsidiary, Magyar Telecom B.V.

M&A partner George Karafotias is leading the Shearman & Sterling team of lawyers in London and New York.  He is being assisted by capital markets partner Jacques McChesney and associates Apostolos Gkoutzinis, Sean Skiffington, David Plattner, Babett Carrier and Tasha Matharu.
