Shearman & Sterling represented Siemens AG in its $993 million acquisition of US Filter Corp.'s worldwide systems and services businesses.  US Filter, the U.S market leader for water treatment and supply, employs around 5,800 individuals and has annual sales of some $1.2 billion.  The transaction is expected to close before the end of September, pending regulatory approval.
