Partner Andrew Tenzer and associate Robert Britton (both New York-Bankruptcy & Reorganization) published an article, “Relief for Municipalities in Financial Dire Straits,” in the September 27 issue of the New York Law Journal. Raising the possibility of increased filings under the infrequently invoked Chapter 9 of the US Bankruptcy Code by municipalities facing massive fiscal shortfalls, the article provides an overview of Chapter 9 for investors and others who may be more familiar with other sections of the Bankruptcy Code, particularly Chapter 11.
