Rome, September 4, 2006 — Shearman & Sterling advised Buongiorno USA, Inc. a subsidiary of the Italian listed company, Buongiorno S.p.A., on the acquisition of Rocket Mobile, Inc. of California’s Silicon Valley.

The Buongiorno Group operates in the market of multimedia content via telephone and digital channels and is one of the major groups worldwide in the mobile value added service sector, with a  market leading position in Europe and a significant position in the US and in Latin America.  In addition, Buongiorno operates in Russia and the Asia Pacific region through a joint venture with the Japanese Group Mitsui & Co., Ltd.  Rocket Mobile, Inc. is a leading developer of mobile phone applications and mobile messaging technologies for handset OEMs.

Shearman & Sterling LLP regularly acts as counsel to Buongiorno in connection with Buongiorno’s cross-border expansion.  Since 2005, Shearman & Sterling LLP has represented the Buongiorno Group in several transactions in connection with its international expansion in Asia, France and the United States.
