The Rome office of Shearman & Sterling LLP acted as Italian and US counsel for the underwriters, led by Credit Suisse, in the Rule 144A/Regulation S initial public offering and SWX Swiss Exchange listing of BioXell S.p.A., an Italian biopharmaceutical company engaged in developing new therapeutic candidates in the areas of urology and inflammation.
This transaction was the first ever IPO by an Italian company on the SWX Swiss Exchange.
The Shearman & Sterling team was led by Rome-based Capital Markets partner Robert Ellison, assisted by Capital Markets partner Domenico Fanuele and associates Emanuele Trucco and Marco Ramondino in the Rome office, and Lisa Gambone in the firm’s London office. The transaction also involved lawyers from the firm’s International Tax group led by partner Bernie Pistillo in the firm's London office, assisted by associate Sara Clevering.
