Top in Black Solicitors Network UK League Tables
Shearman & Sterling’s commitment to diversity was recognized in the 2007 Black Solicitors Network league tables. The firm was ranked as the employer with the highest number of ethnic minority associates in the UK out of a survey that reviewed over 80 national and international law firms.

Thomas L. Sager Award
Shearman & Sterling received prestigious recognition from the Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA). Noting the firm’s “outstanding diversity efforts,” the MCCA selected Shearman & Sterling as recipient of its 2006 Thomas L. Sager Award for the Northeast region.  The award is given to law firms that have demonstrated sustained commitment to improve the hiring, retention and promotion of minority attorneys.

Morgan Ranks Shearman & Sterling as "most diverse"
Morgan Stanley ranked Shearman & Sterling first among their outside counsel in providing the most diverse legal staffing on US matters.  Morgan Stanley's general counsel and other senior members hosted a lunch in honor of Shearman & Sterling.  Partners Denise Grant (NY-PDF), Joel Klaperman (NY-CM), Donna Parisi (NY-SD), Linda Rappaport (NY-ECEB), former Senior Partner, David Heleniak, and Diversity Management Attorney Anna Brown (NY) attended the event and accepted honors on the firm's behalf.

Association of Black Women Attorneys honors Shearman & Sterling Partner
Partner Denise Grant (NY-PDF) was honored by the Association of Black Women Attorneys at the organization's 12th Annual Ruth Whithead Whaley Award Lunch.  Grant was honored as one of the black female partners at major NYC law firms in commemoration of the attorney and student trailblazers of Brown v. Board of Education.
