Practice
Mr. Bright, a consultant to the firm, practices in the field of antitrust law in Europe. He has extensive experience of major cross-border M&A transactions, as well as advising a wide range of sectors on joint ventures, cartels, monopoly infringement, complex contractual arrangements and the European Union public procurement and state aid rules. He is also a leading practitioner in utility regulation, with particular expertise in energy and water sectors. Mr. Bright joined the firm as a partner in 2001 and established Competition Consulting in 2006, from where he advises the firm and its clients on European and international competition law issues.
Mr. Bright qualified as a solicitor in 1985 at Linklaters and remained there until 1999, becoming a partner in 1992, subsequently moving to Clifford Chance where he was head of its European competition practice. From 1989 to 1991, he was seconded to the UK government as an advisor in the competition policy division of the Department of Trade and Industry. He is a non-executive director of the Jersey Competition Regulatory Authority and is a Member of the UK Competition Commission.
