Practice Mr. Gibian is a partner in the Tax Group with a practice focused on tax planning and transactional work.
Mr. Gibian regularly advises clients with respect to the development and implementation of a variety of financial products, including both capital markets offerings and private transactions. He also provides counsel with respect to the securitization of mortgage-backed securities (REMICs). Mr. Gibian’s practice also entails representing clients with respect to a broad range of tax issues, including the formation of joint ventures, international tax planning opportunities and structuring of corporate transactions. Mr. Gibian has also been active in his representation of non-profits involved in the microfinance industry.
Mr. Gibian’s practice includes work for a broad range of clients, including: Citigroup, Credit Suisse, Farmer Mac, Financial Guaranty Insurance Company, Freddie Mac, Marriott International, Morgan Stanley and Société Générale.
Mr. Gibian joined the firm in 1998, and became a partner in 2008. He has been an adjunct professor at Georgetown University Law Center since 2006.
