Practice
Douglas P. Bartner is a partner in Shearman & Sterling LLP’s Bankruptcy & Reorganization Group, where he regularly represents debtors and creditors and acquirors of assets in chapter 11 bankruptcies and out-of-court restructurings. He joined Shearman & Sterling in 1982 and became a partner in 1991. Mr. Bartner spent two years in Mexico City engaged in private sector restructuring work during the height of the sovereign debt crisis and two years in the firm’s Los Angeles office. Mr. Bartner served as the global Practice Group Leader of the Bankruptcy & Reorganization Group for ten years. He is currently serving as Chair of the firm’s Audit Committee and is a member of the firm’s Practice Management Committee.
Mr. Bartner is consistently ranked as an industry leader. In 2011, Mr. Bartner was recognized by IFLR 1000 – The Guide to the World’s Leading Financial Law Firms, Chambers USA – America’s Leading Lawyers for Business, Chambers Global – The World’s Leading Lawyers for Business, PLC Which Lawyer?
