Practice Esther Jansen specializes in the areas of bank finance (including acquisition and real estate financings), restructuring and insolvency. She represents German and foreign clients in domestic and cross-border finance and M&A transactions. Ms. Jansen joined the firm’s Frankfurt office in 2001 (after having worked as an attorney in another major law firm) and became a partner in 2005.

- Oxea on the issuance of a EUR 500 million HY bond and an up to 120 million revolving credit facility
- Glatfelter in connection with the financing of the acquisition of German-Canadian Concert group and refinancing of its credit facilities
- Barclays Bank (and others) on the issuance by InterXion of a EUR 200 million HY bond and EUR 60 million revolving credit facility
- Warburg Pincus on the sale of easycash Group to Ingenico S.A. and related financing issues
- Qatar Investment Authority and Qatar Holding LLC on its investment in Volkswagen AG and Porsche Automobil Holding SE including its participation in a syndicated loan in the amount of up to EUR 265 million and a subsequent restructuring of the syndicated loan
- Cognis GmbH in a factoring transaction with GE Capital Bank
- Avenue Capital and DDJ Capital Management on the European M&A and finance issues in a pre arranged Chapter 11 for Milacron Inc.
- Real Estate Investor in connection with restructuring of facilities agreement and debt-buyback
- Various creditors in insolvency procedures of Lehman Bankhaus AG
- Various private equity sponsors in the restructuring of liabilities of portfolio companies
- Deutsche Postbank, Dresdner Bank, WestLB AG and IKB Deutsche Industriebank AG in a EUR 320 million financing of the acquisition of a cavern portfolio by IVG Institutional Funds GmbH
- Royal Bank of Scotland on a real estate financing for Bouwfonds
- RAG-Stiftung in connection with its sale of a stake in Evonik Industries AG
- HVB in connection with the ongoing advise on various LBO-portfolio financings
