The Paris office, established in 1963, is both the firm’s oldest non-US practice and its third largest office. The office advises on matters of French, US, and international law and is a principal part of the firm’s European network. Core practice groups are: Capital Markets, Mergers & Acquisitions, Bank Finance, Private Equity, Competition, Tax, and International Arbitration.
Our corporate practices focus on the French market, handling both domestic transactions and cross-border transactions having a major French component. The corporate group is primarily active in equity and debt offerings, privatizations, international employee offerings, international joint ventures, acquisitions, project financings, acquisition finance, leveraged buyout financings, structured finance, tax restructuring, transfer pricing, and acquisitions. The group also provides transactional and litigation advice on all aspects of French and European competition issues.
In addition to our corporate capabilities, we have what is regarded as one of the world's finest International Arbitration practices. Composed of about 30 lawyers, the International Arbitration Group in Paris has represented clients of over 40 different nationalities in arbitration proceedings under the rules of all major international arbitral institutions. It is particularly active in investment, energy, construction, mergers and acquisitions, financial, and general commercial disputes.
