(Washington, DC-Litigation), partner and head of Shearman & Sterling's global Anti-Corruption & FCPA practice, was a panelist at ALI-CLE’s “Recent Trends in FCPA and Other Anti-Corruption Enforcement in the U.S. and Abroad” which took place on October 22, 2015 via telephone seminar and audio webcast.
The seminar focused on the latest developments in FCPA and other anti-corruption enforcement in the U.S. and certain other countries, including:
- The latest developments in US FCPA enforcement, including lessons learned from recent DOJ/SEC settlements, implications of recent court decisions, and key issues raised by ongoing investigations.
- The shifting landscape of anti-corruption enforcement in Asia, with a focus on China, by local authorities as well as DOJ and SEC.
- The increased focus on anti-corruption enforcement in South and Central America, both with respect to the US authorities applying the expansive jurisdiction of the FCPA and by domestic authorities in Brazil, Chile, Guatemala, and elsewhere.
