Burke participated in a panel on “Case Studies on Complex Gift and Entertainment Scenarios” that focuses on real-life case studies, recent enforcement trends, how to distinguish between permissible gifts and corrupt payments, “reasonable and bona fide” and “nominal value” standards across jurisdictions, best practices for monetary and frequency thresholds on gifts and entertainment, and travel and hospitality issues.

The celebration started with two simultaneous seminars in the afternoon, followed by a cocktail reception in the evening. The seminars and cocktail reception were warmly attended by guests from the Chinese government, foreign embassies in Beijing, Chinese state-owned and private enterprises, major financial institutions and multinational corporations, and local Chinese law firms.
