  • Undertaking a major investigation into sanctions compliance at a leading European banking group.
  • Representing a group of investment funds in connection with the resolution of Banco Espίrito Santo.
  • Undertaking numerous internal investigations into corruption concerns including advising on exposure under the UK Bribery Act and representing parties in dealings with the Serious Fraud Office.
  • Advising holders of subordinated notes issued by the Co-operative Bank in connection with its restructuring and scheme of arrangement.
  • Advising a Hedge Fund with significant interests in Lehman related litigation.
  • Advising a Bank on FCA enquiries into client asset and money holding arrangements following a review.
  • Advising the Irish Government in relation to the Irish banking crisis, in particular, in relation to claims by holders of subordinated debt.
  • Representing Icopal A/S in connection with a scheme of arrangement challenged by minority creditors.
  • Acting for the winding up board of LBI h.f. in a dispute with Rabobank over sums payable on early termination of an ISK currency swap.
  • Advising a FTSE 250 company on a series of claims and challenges made by stakeholders in the context of the restructuring of several securitisations.
  • Advising a leading UK private equity fund management and advisory business on its exposure to misselling claims in relation to a range of financial products.
  • Advising a leading energy company on an internal investigation following allegations of price fixing in the wholesale gas market.
  • Conducting an investigation at a FTSE 250 company following FSA enquiries, prompted by share price movements, about management of inside information.
  • Advising an oil company with major North Sea interests on issues arising under Decommissioning Security Agreements as a result of bank ratings downgrades, including preparation to seek injunctive relief.
  • Representing a leading hedge fund in relation to the Eurotunnel restructuring on issues arising under a range of financing agreements.
  • Advising a leading telecoms company in connection with India’s attempts retroactively to impose capital gains tax of $2.5 billion on its acquisition of an Indian telecoms business.
  • Defending a leading German energy company against a $750 million claim in LCIA arbitration following the failure of negotiations for a joint venture with a Russian party for the purchase of one of Russia’s regional power generation companies.
  • Acting for shareholders in a $1.5 billion LCIA arbitration in connection with the disputed acquisition of a majority stake in a leading African telecoms company.
