Laura S. Friedrich


Laura Friedrich is the global head of the Investment Funds practice. She has extensive experience in the fund formation area, representing both fund sponsors and limited partners. She works with US and international private equity, venture capital and hedge funds and their sponsors, with investments in the United States, Latin America, Europe, Africa, India, the Middle East and Asia. Laura has led many multibillion dollar fund raisings, as well as more modest fundraising efforts for middle market, regional and sector-specific funds. She has represented sponsors across a variety of asset categories, including buy-out, real estate, funds of funds, debt, energy, infrastructure, transportation and media. She also advises investors on the purchase of interests in private funds.

  • An affiliate of a development finance institution in the formation of an emerging markets private equity fund targeting investments in Asia
  • A Spanish fund of funds manager in the establishment of a U.S. office and the onboarding of a U.S. management team
  • A prominent real estate fund manager in the formation of its third fund making investments in Brazil
  • An affiliate of a development finance institution in the formation of a private equity fund targeting investments in financial institutions in emerging markets
  • A Brazilian fund manager in the structuring of an infrastructure fund to invest in Brazilian assets
