Esther Jansen


Esther Jansen specializes in the areas of finance (including acquisition and real estate financings), bank/bond financings, restructuring and refinancings. She represents German and foreign clients in domestic and cross-border finance transactions. After having worked as an attorney in another international law firm, Ms. Jansen joined Shearman & Sterling’s Frankfurt office in 2001 and became a partner in 2005.

  • Allianz on the sale of its majority stake in Oldenburgische Landesbank and related financing arrangements
  • International Chemical Investors Group on an export credit financing for VYNOVA Belgium N.V.
  • SEB on acquisition financing of exocad by The Carlyle Group
  • Joint bookrunners, led by Deutsche Bank on DEA’s debut EUR 400 million offering of senior notes. 
  • International Chemical Investors Group on the refinancing of CordenPharma group by way of a syndicated loan provided by a consortium of ING Bank, Bayerische Landesbank and Intesa Sanpaolo
