Jacques B. McChesney


Jacques McChesney is a New York-qualified partner in the European Capital Markets group of the London office. Jacques is an experienced lawyer, practicing in European leveraged finance and debt capital markets, with a focus on high yield acquisition finance and bond deals. He represents issuers, sponsors and lenders on complex corporate financings. In addition, he advises clients with respect to investment grade offerings, restructurings, debt tender/consent solicitations, equity offerings, private placements, medium-term note programs, acquisitions and hybrid securities offerings.

Jacques is ranked as a top tier lawyer in Chambers UK 2013, in which he is described as “a distinguished high yield bond lawyer, whom clients find is the person you want ‘beside you in a negotiation with a bank, rather than in front of you’.” Jacques is also cited as a leading lawyer in the Legal 500 UK 2012 and IFLR1000 2012.

  • Grupo Isolux Corsán, S.A. in the high-yield bond offering of its €600 million 6.625% Senior Notes due 2021 issued in March 2014 and its subsequent tap issuance of €250 million 6.625% Senior Notes due 2021 by Isolux Corsán’s wholly owned subsidiary Grupo Isolux Corsán Finance B.V.
  • The Royal Bank of Scotland, Lloyds Bank and Barclays as Joint Global Coordinators and Joint Bookrunners, on an offering of £225,000,000 5.25% Senior Notes due 2021 by Debenhams plc.
  • Goldman Sachs International, Jefferies International Limited, and TPG Capital BD, LLC, as initial purchasers, in connection with the offering of £200 million 6.75% Senior Secured Notes due 2020 and £100 million Senior Secured Floating Rate Notes due 2020 issued by TES Finance Plc, a wholly owned subsidiary of TSL Education Group Limited (“TSL Education”).
  • Barclays Bank PLC, BNP Paribas, Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., RBC Capital Markets, LLC, Scotia Capital (USA) Inc. and Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB (publ) as initial purchasers in connection with the high-yield bond offering of US$300 million of 8.125% Senior Notes due 2019 by Ithaca Energy Inc.
