Shuang Zhao


Shuang Zhao is a partner in Shearman & Sterling’s Hong Kong office. Her practice focuses on general corporate and capital markets matters and she has worked on a variety of equity, equity-linked and debt offerings. Transactions in which she has been involved include SEC-registered offerings, Rule 144A/Regulation S offerings and listings in the United States and Hong Kong. Ms. Zhao regularly advises public companies on corporate governance and regulatory compliance matters, including issues arising under the Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

Ms. Zhao has been named as a leading individual for debt and equity capital markets in Hong Kong by IFLR1000 Guide to the World’s Leading Financial Law Firms.

  • Morgan Stanley, Credit Suisse and China Renaissance as the underwriters in connection with the US$72 million initial public offering of Tuniu Corporation, a leading online leisure travel company in China, on the Nasdaq Stock Exchange
  • Goldman Sachs and Credit Suisse as lead underwriters in connection with the US$285.6 million initial public offering of Weibo Corporation, a leading Chinese social media platform
  • Deutsche Bank Securities Inc., Piper Jaffray & Co. and Oppenheimer & Co. Inc. in connection with the $86.5 million U.S. IPO and listing on the New York Stock Exchange of 500.com
  • Simcere Pharmaceutical Group in joint venture with Merck & Co., Inc. and in its US$260.5 million IPO on the NYSE
