French Regulations on Waste Packaging / Quand les emballages deviennent des déchets
9 Feb 2009

French regulations on packaging waste call for more and more significant objectives in terms of the recycling or reuse of such waste, in order to minimize the disposal of packaging waste into landfills. When the final user of the packaging is a household, the producer of the packaging is responsible for the financing and organization of the return and/or collection of used packaging. Final consumers that are not households must make sure that 100% of the packaging is either reused or recycled. Collection networks as well as material and energy recovery have been organized to comply with such regulations.
