Shearman & Sterling's Fifth Annual Corporate Governance Symposium
Shearman & Sterling
599 Lexington Avenue
New York
15 Sep 2010
This year’s Symposium focused on the accelerating shift toward greater stockholder involvement in the corporate decision-making process—reflected by the several initiatives coming out of the 2008/2009 financial crisis, including the expected enactment of proxy access and "say on pay," as well as the broad-based shift to majority voting, the increasing volume of shareholder proposals and the dismantling of takeover defenses.
