Partner John Opar (New York-Property), along with associates Solomon Noh and Alexa Loo (both New York-Bankruptcy & Reorganization), published a chapter entitled, "Foreign Investment in US Real Estate: Bankruptcy Aspects" in the AFIRE Guide to US Real Estate Investing.

The article begins with an overview of the US bankruptcy law process and then focuses on special provisions relevant to single-asset real estate cases, property sales and real estate-related aspects of the Chapter 11 process. In particular, the authors explore the concepts of the debtor as borrower, lease issues and claims issues.
