North America
The North America M&A practice comprises lawyers based in New York, Palo Alto, San Francisco and Toronto.
- New York office (est. 1873) is the firm’s oldest office. M&A lawyers in New York have built a strong reputation through their representation of leading domestic and multinational corporations and financial institutions, advising on some of the largest and most complex US and cross-border transactions
- Bay Area offices (est. 1979 San Francisco, Palo Alto) have one of the most prominent M&A practices on the West Coast, with particular strengths in technology, telecommunications and biotechnology transactions involving US and multinational companies
- Toronto office (est. 1989) has extensive experience in a broad range of complex cross-border and multi-jurisdictional public and private M&A transactions for both Canadian and US companies
Europe
The European Corporate practice has over 120 lawyers based in London, Düsseldorf, Frankfurt, Munich, Paris and Rome. Over 85% of our corporate lawyers in Europe are admitted to practice under English, French, German or Italian law. By integrating European law capability with global reach, the practice provides a competitive advantage to its corporate and financial institutions clients in structuring and executing complex domestic and cross-border transactions.
- London office (est. 1972) has represented major UK and international companies and financial institutions on many of the largest transactions in the London market under English and US law
- German offices (est. 1991 Düsseldorf and Frankfurt, and 2001 Munich) are among the most prominent German law practices in Germany, advising German and multinational clients on a broad range of M&A transactions
- Paris office (est. 1963) is the oldest office outside of New York and has decades of experience in advising French and global clients on French, US and cross-border transactions
- Italian offices (est. 2002 Rome and 2010 Milan) with top Italian law expertise advise on significant transactions in the Italian market
Middle East
The Middle East practice has more than 30 years of experience, with the Abu Dhabi office being one of the oldest offices of international firms in the region.
- Abu Dhabi office (est. 1975) is a market leader in representing clients throughout the Middle East, including many of the region’s national oil companies and state owned or controlled investment and development companies
Asia
The Asia M&A practice comprises lawyers based in Beijing, Hong Kong, Shanghai, Singapore and Tokyo with US, English and Hong Kong law capabilities and with diverse backgrounds and language skills.
- China offices (est. 1978 Hong Kong, 1993 Beijing and 2007 Shanghai) are a regional M&A powerhouse. The offices have been recognized for their involvement in the most sophisticated and complex inbound and outbound M&A transactions in Asia, including the first successful M&A transaction done under China’s new M&A rules
- Singapore office (est. 1995) represents clients doing business in Southeast Asia and includes lawyers of eight nationalities
- Tokyo office (est. 1987) advises on some of the largest M&A transactions involving Japanese entities
Latin America
The Latin America practice comprises lawyers based in São Paulo as well as in New York, with international backgrounds and fluency in English, Portuguese and Spanish.
